playing with white…

Continuing with my thought on organized and lovely playrooms….here are a few inspiring images.  Let's start with my very fav.  All of these horizontal lines add so much visual interest here.  It would be fun to also incorporate a few big pillows on the floor for lounging during board games.  My eight year old votes for the Cat-in-the-Hat propped on the shelf.

This space epitomizes Organized + Artful living.

Play

White palettes look great in rooms for little ones.  The color in the toys can actually become the punch in the room.  This bright and simple play space collage is courtesy of decor8.

Kidbed

Another white palette.  Sorry image is so small.  Also I cannot find my source.  But what a fun place for a tike to sleep and quite a clever use of storage.

Here's another white color scheme, although a bit rustic.  Tee Pees can be super fun nooks for a reading or playing.  It seems all little ones enjoy having a special spot to imagine and play.  This one in particular makes the room.  Thanks My Notting Hill for image.

I love teepees! My mom made my son one for his 2nd birthday and it’s such a hit.

I love that last room and can totally envision a grown up version, with rustic canopy bed, a carved cream mantle in lieu of the dollhouse, white parsons desk and an Eames or Danish molded plywood chair.

    Robin,
Wow that’s a lovely vision. Oh a carved cream mantle would be such a nice contrast to the other rustic touches. Danish molded chair…would love to see one. Do you have any images?

    Hey Seleta
The molded plywood chairs are a mid-century modern/Danish modern staple. Go to Design Within Reach (www.dwr.com) and search on the word “plywood”. The ones I have in mind (for they look a bit like the child’s chair in the room) are the Eames versions and the Series 7 versions. Just don’t faint when you see the prices!
