Today I opened the playroom door and found this hilarious site. A patient little soul [our cat] sitting by the kitchen set, dressed in some kind of…chef's hat? Our four-year-old had been wardrobing him while playing "mommy."
I've never seen a cat actually keep a hat on. How is he so patient and tolerant? Maybe I could take lessons from him.
I was laughing so hard that I couldn't hold the camera still. It's blurry. Pom Pom was sitting there acting so serious. Made it that much funnier. [please note the wild-haired naked Barbie in the kitchen]
I think Pom Pom deserves some kind of cat award or something. He has logged in so many hours in that little playroom under our stairs and always has the best attitude.
After preparing to exploit him on my blog taking his picture I made sure the offspring gave him half a bag of treats. He was happy. And surprisingly remained in the same spot. Mellow and unoffended by his outfit.
He hasn't run away yet, even though we let him outside everyday to chill out and watch the lizards and birds. Maybe he sticks around because he knows he's very loved.

That first picture made my night! I love that lil kitty. Hilarious!
good kitty!
Pom pom is a hoot and so adorable. Very funny! xoxo
Very sweet! :)
hilarious! pom pom makes my heart smile every time you post about him. what a great cat.
I’ve not seen a cat so tolerant of being dressed up before…so my best guess is that Pom Pom is a closet drag queen. :)
I remember those days when “Hershel” my daughters cat was clothed and swaddled and strolled around our basement in a buggy. Thank you for sharing that delightful story.
Everything you have said about Pom Pom is so obviously true. That cat cracks me up!
we used to dress up our cat, but there was really only a window of 15 or so minutes she would tolerate it. this is too funny! what a great cat.
Barbie is a naughty girl. She ends up naked in whoever’s home she lives in! Bad bad girl!!
Aw that is just too cute! I wish my little doggie was just as patient. He hates when I try to dress him up, or even take his picture!
What a riot! He’s so patient–I cannot imagine my cats tolerating a hat at all. He looks very content.
So cute! What a great playmate Pom Pom makes!I never could figure out exactly HOW Barbie ALWAYS ends up naked even though she personally owns over 2,872,907 outfits. Go figure!
Pom Pom singlehandedly disspells the aloof cat myth. Kitties all around the world are cheering! Yay Pom Pom. {And who thought of that name, by the way, TOO cute!}
That is so funny! The best cat in the world.
Pom Pom should win an award for most patient cat.
I love that Pom Pom likes to dress up and play along.
A good example for each of us.

Hahahahahaha – what we do to our pets (and they love it most of the time!)
That is a fabulous picture of Pom Pom. We have the hardest time photographing our puppy Percy but you always manage to get some great shots of Pom Pom. I love the name too! Pets can give so much joy.
confession: i usually don’t have a whole lot of affection for cats – it’s usually all spent on my dog. that being said – pom pom just opened my heart to patient, kind kitties the world over. what a saint! i’m sold. where do i get one??
Oh fun! A Pom Pom post, my favorite! :) He is one of a kind, Seleta! Just love him. When my sister and I were little girls, we put cabbage patch doll dresses and bibs on our cats and strolled them around in baby carriages. Pom Pom is a great sport.
You seriously have the best cat ever- ok besides my cat. But my cat would never let me do something like that to him. So yours wins the award- so sweet!
ok, i confess..i’m not cat person. BUT if i was, i’d want one like pom pom. too funny.
on another note, what is that gorgeous fabric on the floor in front of the kitchen set? even the “junk fabric” your children play on is fantastic!
Oh my, he is so cute! My cat doesn’t stand anything on her but her fur – he gets furious any time I try to put anything on her (not that I dress my cat, of course).
I love the Barbie! Made me laugh out loud.
Barbie has obviously been partying too much, and the pictures of Pom Pom made me laugh right out loud this morning! Thanks for a great start to the day!
My cat Joey was great and understanding also in the 60′s…I would dress him in babies nighties and hats with ties under the chin…
I love your cat PomPom, sweet and lovely.
Our Tomasina passed 2 years ago at 21 years,3months,3days old (when your that old every minute counts) we miss her every day…very much…my husband and I love to see pictures of bloggers cats and kittens.
We are petless at the moment, and pictures do it for us for now. Regards, Carol Ann & Jim
what an absolutely fabulous cat you have !!! Pom Pom you are just delicious….I myself have a photo of my daughter giving our maltese/poodle a hairdo…if that’s what you can call it….she had about a hundred ponytails happening all over the poor dog’s body !!! My cats would never put up with it at all !! xxx
Oh that cat is so precious! I love the sweet hat on his head!
