What better way to start the first Wednesday of our new year other than with some lovely white?
Aside from the beautiful cabinetry and shelves, I love the over-sized jars filled with flowers…or funky sticks.
I’m so lazy this week after that long holiday. I can’t seem to snap myself back into a productive schedule. Just guzzled a tall glass of creamy eggnog as I posted these pictures. Mmmmm. A long, relaxing bath would be perfect to follow my gluttonous behavior. This bathtub would be just right.
How are you doing with getting back into your schedule this week?

Hi Seleta! I love the second picture – especially that big, clear light bulb. It’s so simple and elegant.
I’m having such a tough time getting back into the swing of things. I’m so sleepy this week! Good luck getting back on schedule.
Mentally, I’m totally ready for the New Year: resolutions, lists of to-dos, energizing new start for everything. Physically, it’s more like: meh. It’s definitely been a bit of a lazy start. Maybe next week?
PS. I love the Wednesday White posts. Who knew something so simple could do so much for you? Each of these completely removed me from my office cubicle to somewhere oh so much lovelier.
Terrible. I don’t know whether I am coming or going. Kind of walking around in a fog. Had a ton of plans to clean, get rid of, organize etc while on school break. I start one project and think of 6 other things to do…..and then start that project too! Is this how people with ADD feel??? I need something to motivate me……and FAST!!!!
So gorgeous, Seleta! All-white interiors are my downfall- I just love them! I’ve been thinking about re-doing our kitchen cabinets in white, but have yet to build up the courage. Your post is inspiring me to take the plunge! Happy New Year to you :)
I always look forward to Wednesday White, it is like a breath of fresh air. Where do you find these fabulous pictures? I am ready for the New Year. I just don’t seem to quite be back in the swing of things yet.
BTW, forgot to mention how much I L.O.V.E. Wednesday White!!!! The only color in my book to decorate with, since I have never tired of it through all the years. Off to Target for project #7 ( when I should be really finishing # 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 LOL).
Seleta,
Yours was the first blog I ever read when you first started. My daughter and I just started a blog and I would like to invite you to read it and hopefully subscribe. It is http://www.the2seasons.com. I think you will enjoy the premise for out blog.
I know how you feel, I just don’t seem to have any energy to do anything, maybe when the sun comes out a little more. As for the tub, I completely agree as I have that exact same tub and I think I just might take a long hot bath with too many bubbles tonight. Thanks for the suggestion!
Needed to see those gorgeous pics – gives me the motivation I need to get myself going…one of my resolutions this year is to make my surroundings more beautiful.
One of the major things I have to get back into this week is cooking- the holidays were so busy and full of eating unhealthy food, which just leaves me lacking energy. Getting back into home-cooking will hopefully be one of the steps that will help everything else fall back into place.
oh man, it’s been SO hard getting back in the swing of things. completely understand. especially since I teach young (energetic) children! i guarantee i would be very relaxed if i lived in that first photo. the door, the brushed chrome furniture, and those windows… ahh. thanks for sharing! xo
Oh, that bath tub looks heavenly right now! I am sluggish this week, too, Seleta. I have not even taken the Christmas decor all down yet. I need to get motivated. Instead I have been taking a few days off realxing by the fireplace reading a book and cooking. It’s been nice but I need to get with it! Your white images are beautiful. Eggnog sounds good…thanks for mentioning that.
I feel like someone has had a gun to my back this week…forcing me to get back to work and start some new projects. I am just not ready yet!
Last week was a totally lazy and re-grouping week. This week I started by taking my holiday decor down and I have cleaned out the pantry and fridge. Now I am on to the laundry room. I wish I had the energy to go along with my want-to!!! I say enjoy your time while you can. With 4 children your life will get productive enough when duty calls. Kathysue
PS I am having a $75 Container store gift card giveaway on my blog!!! I thought this would be a good help to get us all going on the new year organizing, plus it is my one year blogaversary!! Yay for blogging!!
So pretty! I’m having a tough time getting back to our schedule as well. I call it our holiday hangover and it always takes us a week or so to get back into a routine. Happy 2011!
Lovely! I want that tub. And eggnog sounds pretty good right now! We actually made ours homemade this year with fresh local milk & eggs and just the right amount of “enhancement” ;) It was soooo good!!
Glad it sounds like you’ve gotten some lovely relaxing time in after all you had going on. A nice hot bubble bath sounds heavenly, I think it’s a must! :)
Our family Christmases were more low key and spread out this year, just finishing up on New Years, which was certainly different, but turned out to be very nice, vs the typical higher energy/more hectic pace of things. It feels weird to get back in the regular routine now, but good. I’m ready to get some things done – organizing, purging, cleaning, here I come! :)
Schedule, what schedule?? Seriously need the curved lamp in the first photo!

i bought TWO pots of white tulips yesterday and they are changing my life!
I’m a long way off from finding my groove in 2011, but I’m beginning to think this year isn’t going to be so much about accomplishing and doing and planning as it is BEING and LIVING. I think living free is just around the corner for me, so I want to guard my time in a way that allows God to do HIS thing instead of me being so focused on MY thing. Easier said than done, but a girl can hope!
Blessings to you in 2011!

Notice no window treatments? I am trying to decide whether to hang shades in our white beach cottage living room. Hmmm…sure like the clean lines without them. What do you think?

That first image is so gorgeous! The natural light coming in is so soothing. Love your Wednesday White series. So glad you still have it going in 2011. Have a wonderful weekend!
Gee, it’s hard to pick a favorite. :)
Where did you get those fabulous lower cabinets? I have been searching for ones like these for ages! Please help…
