Recently I helped a friend spruce up her master bedroom. She’s on a slim budget and can’t do everything at once, so I helped her map out a design plan she can implement on her own. When assessing her existing furniture pieces, I noticed she had an antique trunk with a dark brown stain. It looked tired and sad – so we gave it a face lift!
I designed a mod monogram and had a local artist friend paint it. I think it turned out super cute!
Nothing says happy and classic like a personalized piece in your bedroom. Now she has some extra storage plus something pretty to look at!
To help establish continuity with her new color scheme, we used the extra bedroom paint for the monogram and bottom of the trunk. It’s Raccoon Hollow # 978 by Ben Moore. Purrrrty.

Very clever. Love the monogram!
pretty! great thinking!
The trunk looks great. I love breathing new life into old things. And I think the most creative ideas usually come from necessity.
What a great idea to enjoy what you already have in a new way. Very Clever!!
Seleta,
When my daughter and her husband became engaged, I hired a monogram artist to design a custom monogram for them. It is exquisite. In fact, our blog entry for tomorrow will feature it in a craft project.
So pretty…love it!!
super cute seleta!
