shoe review

Let’s talk shoes.  Last week I blogged about buying these Target cheapies and promised a review.  Here goes.

COMFORT: 7 out of 10.

WEARABILITY: you can comfortably cruise around in these for about 2 hours.  Then you may feel some rubbing on the bottom of your toes after that.  I felt like I was gripping with my toes when walking so that the shoe’s slingback didn’t slide too much.

MATCHABILITY: with that perfect little dash of hot pink, these wedges make great partners with monochromatic ensembles.  I’ve worn mine with stacked pearls, this cream skirt and a pale neutral top.

.   .   .   .   .

Moving on, several of you inquired about my leopard wedges in yesterday’s post.  I picked them up back in March at our Saks outlet….so I knew they wouldn’t be easy to track down.  I did some research and found MORE at Neiman’s Last call site for you right here.  They’re on sale with an extra 30% off!  Much better price than I paid but the band on top looks slightly different than mine.

Here’s an image.  They look terribly geriatric in this shot but trust me they’re way better in person!

My review…

COMFORT: 8 out of 10.

WEARABILITY: You can wear these for up to 2 hours with no annoyances.  The 2 inch wedge is a great alternative to flats for those with high arches, but the open toe section pinches a little after about an hour or two.  My first time wearing them was hoofing it in IKEA and after about an hour I felt a slight discomfort  in the open toe area.  If they weren’t so fabulously leopard, the discomfort would have been a deal breaker.  But I’m willing to suffer a little for stylish tootsies.

MATCHABILITY: These sassies go with just about anything.  I love wearing them with white jeans, black, a solid color, you name it.

I tried those shoes from Target and you are 100% right…they’re cute but not so comfortable.

I bought the Target espadrilles half a size smaller than I usually wear based on on-line reviews, and I haven’t had any slippage problems. Also, you may have noticed that the side buckle is actually functional, so you could try tightening them and see if that makes your slingback not slide as much.

Thanks for sharing your reviews! Yes, keep the fashion reviews coming!!

I just knew that everyone would be asking about the gorgeous shoes. They are lovely. I am off to IKEA tomorrow and was going to wear jeans and trainers, but now I’m thinking that I should follow your way and dress up – although I’m not sure about the heels!

    Have a great weekend.
