wednesday white

I have hardly taken a breath since our nine day road trip with our family last week…but I wanted to share this amazing experience I had during our four days at Disney.

If you’ve read this blog for any length of time, you’ll know one of my greatest passions is interacting with and caring for animals.  Yep, I’m an animal freak.  Thankfully our children have gotten that gene ; )  My husband captured this moment during our dinner at Seaworld.  Sorry for the grainy shot, he took it with his phone.  This lovely leggy creature is an American White Ibis, a classical wading bird from the Threskiornithidae Family.  Try saying that one out loud.

I wanted to take him (or her?) home with us.  Not practical, I know. But in my imagination it would be fun to have a bird pet parading around our home…and that milky white plumage is the perfect white accent.  We have a pond across the street he could visit when he needs some fresh fish.  Or he could hang with me and let me feed him all day.

Speaking of wading, I’m up to my ears in a sea of laundry, suitcases, and Christmas decorations.  Ahhh, the joys of coming back from a roadtrip.  I’m not exactly sure which to tackle first?  I’m totally behind on my domestic duties and emails, so thank you for your patience with my posts.

Seriously, I wish I were your neighbor, I would come over make some meals, help with the laundry and just love being around your sparkly self. Being nice to creatures sure is what our Father would want. I can never imagine cruelty to animals -

Hi! We are animal lovers in our home too. We’ll be at Sea World before the year is out.

Finally saw your article in SL. Your home looked beautiful and such nice pictures of your family. Congratulations.

I am an animal lover too-since I was a small child. It is always wonderful to meet other animal peeps! Love the photo of you and your bird friend! Sorry about the laundry! :)

I bought the December S.L. just to see your article. Congrats on a beautiful display. I haven’t read Southern Living for a while. I used to subscribe, but they went downhill, and I didn’t renew. It is looking really good. I think the new editor is doing a good job – after all, he found you and Eddie.
