Feelin’ cottagey today. Maybe it has something to do with the sun finally emerging after two weeks of murky skies and rain? Today it feels like spring outside. Yet I’m still in my warm fuzzy socks. Go figure.
To me nothing helps create a cottage vibe like a classic ticking stripe.
I like the selection of tickings Lewis & Sheron has over here. And I love the combination of a ticking with the bamboo flatware. I’ve debated snagging this affordable bamboo flatware over at Target. I’ve literally thought about it for years. I wonder if it wears well? Does anyone have it?
One of these days I’ll have a tableskirt made in a simple ticking. It would be a great basic to have on hand for special dinners and entertaining.

I love ticking too! And I just went to the Target site to look at the flatware…it doesn’t have great reviews on sturdiness…it bends even for ice cream? But I really like that photo and hope you can find some reasonable flatware :)

It is gray and cold here today and your wednesday whites just made me all warm and fuzzy-
I used to have ticking duvet’s for my sons when they were little and I loved them. Time for new ticking, maybe napkins to go with some new cutlery will do.

I’ve had wood handled flatware before and the dishwasher dried it out, and it lost it’s finish, and cracked. I guess the bamboo would have to be hand washed? I’d have to think about that!

That was all so adorable. I do love the flooring on the bias, the ticking and the flatware.
I have a set of bamboo patterned all-stainless and love it to mix with some of my blue & white. However, I’ve had several sets of either wooden or pearlized handled stainless that did not hold up.
Do you have a good source for slipcovers? The ticking looks wonderful on the sofa! Aunt Kathi
Our first house had a tiny kitchen that had wallpaper in a blue ticking pattern with white cabinets and I loved it so much! I need to add some more ticking somewhere in my home now. You have reminded me how much I love it! I am starting to look for new everyday china and want to go all white. Love the ones pictured.
