minty monday

The sun has been out for a solid two days and I feel like a new girl.  Such a reprieve from what was beginning to feel like living in the middle of a monsoon.  Right now the air is crisp and humidity low…could it be possible that spring is actually making its debut?  When I think of the early days of spring, I can’t help but dream of delicious minty tones.

A few mint niblets for your Monday:

This kate spade clutch is a perfect companion with white jeans and a simple top…or a flirty dress and wedges.  It’s from their three day sample sale.  Only 49 bucks?  Somebody snatch it!

For a different vibe and a little more room, I found this envelope clutch over here.  The materials are faux, but for $26 who can argue?

These DIY mason jar labels by fancy house road are free and fabulous.  Wouldn’t they be adorable to use instead of plastic for a spring picnic?  Just print on adhesive paper and pop on the jar top.  I’m going to grab a pack of mason jars and go for it.  You can download these freebies here.

How about some chic swimwear?  This ruched criss cross tank enhances the waistline.  If you have narrow hips and broader shoulders, I’d suggest the edgier off-the-shoulder tank suit, which also comes in mint.  JCrack always hits it dead on.

Lovin’ this idea on jazzing up sisal rugs for spring.  All you need is some paint and a home-made zig zag template.  Idea from over here.

Need some good minty paint colors?  I like Ben Moore Robin’s Nest #618, Spring Mint #2040-70 and Quartz Stone #597, which looks fun for some punch.

If you like a warmer mint, you may want to give Ben Moore’s Feather Green #625 a try.

Remember this amazing laundry room from Southern Living’s 2011 Idea house?  The color is Waterscape # 6470 by Sherwin Williams, another lovely shade in the minty family.

Lastly, this hip little book filled with words of affirmation could be the perfect gift for a friend or addition to any library or  tablescape.  Don’t let the whimsical cover fool you, the inside is actually more modern with mottos and illustrations from famous cartoonists, crafters and designers.  Great reviews.  You can find it here and here.

Cheers to warmer, sunnier days and the perfect hint of mint in your life.

LOVE this color. I am actually biting the bullet and painting my workroom this color. It’s always been non-distracting white, but I feel like I need a change. Thanks for the inspiration. For the labels, I swear by the weatherproof style here: http://www.onlinelabels.com/br_material.htm
They’ll hold up well even with regular use. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Seleta! Glad you have sunshine and low humidity. Low humidity + hair = Great day! Love the minty green shades. I will have to grab some cute labels and I also love the rug project. I don’t even want to think about swimsuit season yet….. Hope the sun sticks around for a while!

What a fresh minty breath of air in this post. I want a scoop of mint chip sitting pretty in one of those rooms all decked out in might mint. Can I have a mint julep to go with?
