wednesday white

I’m obsessed with a new brush in my life.  And it happens to be the right color for Wednesday ; ) Meet my new frizz buster friend from Salon Twist.  He’s helping me survive the massive Florida humidity…

I’ve explained before that my hair and our climate aren’t exactly compatible.  And by incompatible, I mean I can step out the door, instantly feel my hair frizz and transform itself into a texture that looks like something out of Swamp Thing.  So I have to take a whole new hair-care approach once May arrives.  My favorite salon in Atlanta is without a doubt IO Salon (love my Sam), so let me tell you about my favorite salon in our beach town, Salon Twist.  Owner and friend Gina, is amazing and also happens to be from Atlanta ; )

Last month I visited Salon Twist in search for hair help.  Tara, one of the Twist stylists, advised me on how to keep my hair from looking like the witch on Wizard of Oz.  Tara recently moved down from New York, where she worked for 21 years, so she has many hair tricks up her sleeve ; )

Tara gave me THREE hair weapons:

1.  A crazy wonderful styling brush.  I’ve had many round brushes in the past, and frankly cannot dry my hair without one, but this one was genius.  It gripped my hair in a way that didn’t pull or damage then smoothed my hair, all while drying more efficiently than any other brush I’ve used.  Apparently the bristles seal the hair cuticle and the ceramic barrel helps prevent frizzing.  Seriously, get this thing.

2.  Moisturizing shampoo.  We’ve had plenty of shampoo chats, I know.  And I’m not a big fan of expensive shampoos.  But between the chemicals in our water and the humidity in our air, I needed some big guns for my summer locks.  I’ve been on this shampoo for about a month now and love it.  The result is smoother hair, no more pine straw texture and color…the best part is that the fragrance is amazing.

3.  Conditioner.  Never had anything like this before.  It just takes the size of a nickel per application and your hair is so happy and smooth.  LOVE!

You can get all of these goodies over at Twist.  If you can only pick one, I’d say get the brush!  Feel free to call Twist at 850-231-7853 or email them here.

Got a hair cut from Sam on your blog recommendation and fell in love with his skills. He is amazing. He also happens to be incredibly nice. Thanks for introducing me to Sam at IO Salon. I get cuts from him when I’m in Atlanta away from home at the beach where I also live. I let him know I found him via your blog. Thanks for sharing your good tips.

Great post! I live in Watercolor and my fiance encouraged to go give Tara a try. She did an excellent job. I’ve been recommending her to other male friends in the area but most of them won’t listen considering that they go to Great Clips by Publix. Tara is awesome! Thanks for sharing!

I'd love to hear from you!
