our morning show appearance

Yesterday by 4:45am I had a car filled with four of our talented Seaside Neighborhood School ballerinas.  They were all dolled up in buns, ballet slippers and company uniforms.  We were headed for an interview at our local NBC morning show, sounds of giggles and lively chat filled the car.  Hearts were fluttering.  It was pitch black dark outside.  I choked down a kale mango smoothie and did my best to apply mascara at red lights.

Here we are at the station ; )

Today I’ll be in rehearsals with Rose and our 49 ballerinas.  Just wanted to pop in and share our interview with you.  You can check  it out right here.

This was the first time our ballerinas performed on TV…so proud of them!!!!  They were poised and graceful under pressure : ) : )

The day before our interview I checked with the anchor to see how big our space was where they would perform a preview of their dance.  You can see here how tight the space was!  So we quickly rehearsed the day before in class on how to effectively work in such a small space.  Let me tell you as a dancer, this is not easy!  Was very proud of them – they did beautifully.

Wonderful job your dancers did in such a restricted space! You looked so pretty Seleta-Being a former tv personality here in Atlanta -you did a great job on camera!!! Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas!

  8. Seleta, I just want you to know that you are the reason my daughter started ballet at the age of 11. Late this summer I read what you are doing on your blog and told her about it and even though I had brought up ballet when she was younger and had no interest, this time something clicked and she decided to try ballet. She is not much of a joiner or sports kind of girl, preferring her violin, books and art to most other activities. This has been so good for her! She loves it and is doing so well! I just wanted you to know that you are even helping and inspiring those outside your community! Jen

  9. 5 a.m. looks great on you!
