Hello there, Wednesday. You’re looking rather shiny and white today.
I spy a pretty house and a happy dog, a swell combination.
This luscious Steven Gambrel design is a perfect appetizer for tomorrow’s topic: mixing metals.
And speaking of metal, I’ll share with you two of my current favorite everyday flatware patterns. I know, right out of left field. A consequential effect of posting after midnight, I suppose.
First up, my personal flatware, Equestrian Braid by Ralph Lauren. Naturally goes with the pervasive horse theme in my life. I’ve had this pattern so long – like 15 years or something. And still love it. I think it’s actually discontinued but you can get it almost everywhere – just google it.
I also fancy this flatware by Crate & Barrel. It’s just fresh and lovely. Tiffany and Co. makes a sterling silver bamboo flatware line that is unforgettable and this is a nice version of it, for a much more affordable price.
I must have metal on the brain, back tomorrow morning for more discussion…this time it will be silver and gold.

Love the weathered wood doors paired with all the white in the first photo. We registered for a beautiful hotel flatware where each piece is different. I have always loved that look but we actually use a set my husband won on The Price is Right (back in Bob’s day!)
I have bamboo flatware from World Market that we use a second set. It’s super inexpensive and not bad quality, at least for occasional use. Love that fireplace surround and marble… yes, please!
Great looks and I’m drooling over all the green and white and the fireplace. But, best of all, I love your flatware and came very close to buying it when it came out. I might just do that one of these days… hah. Plus, I actually have the Asian pattern from Crate and Barrel! It’s a great value, too. I love it as an alternative to our main set that David has always thought is a little too heavy.
How odd! Do you know that just today I was ordering something from Horchow on line and saw this Ralph Lauren setting and ordered it!!! Great sale going on I might add (Ralph Lauren monogrammed towels for a steal!) too funny of all patterns and then to see it on your blog tonight.
What a nice pretty and white entry in your first photo. You walk in that house and immediately you know the house is special. So clean, organized and crisp. A great home!
What a fun Valentine’s project! I’ve got three boys, and the most I could get them to do is sign their Lick-em-aid candy valentines! I love seeing a bit of your pretty kitchen. Can you post some more pictures?
