hello autumn

This morning we woke up to brisk temperatures and the fresh smell of autumn in the air.  I held our first of many turning leaves.

This is my very favorite time of year at the beach.  I get to actually wear layers, boots, and ride my horse without having a heat stroke.  I have high hopes of  beach bonfires with s’mores – maybe even a family camping trip with our horses.

Which makes me wonder – could we somehow swing glamping like this swanky little camping party??  One can dream, after all.

Speaking of glam…I fell in love with this elegant DIY place card project complete with small rosemary wreaths.  How perfectly delightful for Thanksgiving dinner, which I cannot believe is just around the corner.

Full tutorial and free label printables here.

Nothing completes a fall feast like the perfect dessert.  Would love to bake this tasty recipe as part of a family dinner.  Mmmmm.

This weekend we’ll be outside as much as possible to enjoy the fabulous cooler air and sunshine. I think I see a pumpkin carving session in our immediate future.

Do you have any special weekend plans?

Happy autumn to you!

  1. It is deliciously cool fall weather here in North Carolina. I have a huge rosemary bush right outside my kitchen door, I can’t wait to make those place cards for Thanksgiving dinner. Currently I have been simmering it on the stovetop with vanilla and lemons-makes the whole house smell like Williams-Sonoma.
