wednesday white giveaway!

Hello again.  I feel so refreshed after a little blog break and happy to be back!  What better way to kick off the middle of the week than with a fabulous giveaway!!?

May I present this new Deja Vu tassel pearl necklace that I am officially obsessed with.  I walked into Deja Vu in Seaside the other day, spotted this beauty, and had to buy it.  It’s everything I love – pearls, tassels, classic style, and the perfect amount of bling.  The gals at Deja Vu were so sweet and offered to give one away on the blog – yay!

pearltassel6

For fun I thought I would show you how this necklace looks in person.  So I threw on a little blue dress before carpool yesterday and asked Peter snap a few pics.  Note:  we are not professionals, ha.  The wind was blowing like crazy and I was haggling with my hair, which was fizzled from been crammed in a riding helmet the night before.  The clock was ticking so I was rushing Peter who was firing off shots with no warning.

pearltassel8

You could see how easily this necklace can jazz up a simple linen dress.

pearltassel2

We shot in the backyard of our bay house.  I’m surprised there’s not a chicken or two running around in the background.

pearltassel5

I love that the tassel is generously proportioned, not flimsy or scrimpy.  And the necklace itself is not too heavy, which is another plus. Don’t you hate wearing heavy necklaces?!  Here’s another close-up.  Got a new mani last week during my break.  The color is “Funny Bunny” by OPI.

pearltassel1

This necklace is perfect for pretty much any outfit.  Last week you may have seen on my IG that I wore this tassel necklace with a simple white tee, jeans, and blazer.  Sooooo easy.

pearltassel9

The day I actually found it in Deja Vu I was already wearing my kate spade necklace – I actually liked the two necklaces together for a fun layered look.  Like I said, this necklace goes with anything.  Look at that cutie pearl necklace hanging in the background.

pearltassel11

P.S.  I love so many of the necklaces (like all of these), dresses, and accessories in their store – if you’re ever here you have to visit Deja Vu.  Or shop their boutique online.

One lucky winner will receive this lovely Deja Vu pearl tassel necklace.  Woo hoo!

My husband and I love to visit Charleston whenever we can. I would wear that gorgeous necklace with a sleeveless linen top and a cute skirt with some sandals (that outfit sounds so happy right now, after the winter we have had!).

  2. kathy says:

I’ve always wanted to go to NYC. We are thinking about going this fall for our 25th wedding anniversary. I would wear that necklace with a blazer and jeans. I love the top you are wearing in the last photo. Do you mind sharing where you found it?

  3. Vickie McKinley says:

My husband and I would stay at Blackberry Farm, a luxury resort in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. It is fabulous and so relaxing. I would wear the necklace with a denim shirt, white jeans, leopard belt and heels, and a blazer.

  4. Konni B says:

Fredericksburg, Texas and enjoy all the things a little German town has to offer (and hopefully see some Texas wildflowers in bloom)!

  5. Maureen says:

My husband and I would love to go to Mackinac Island in Michigan. Of course it would have to be a bit warmer than it is at the moment.

  6. Shell says:

With the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes nothing beats a stay-cation! I often have to remind myself to stop and take in the beauty and charm of my everyday surroundings. The necklace is so fabulous, I’d wear it with a white tee, black leggings, and a denim jacket to go on a little local adventure around town with my honey.

  7. Kelly says:

I love the necklace with the white tee and jeans…makes the whole outfit. I would wear it out to dinner on a patio…anywhere!

  8. BethA says:

I’d go to Galveston. I love the beach, and Galveston is just an hour down the road from me. I could sit in the sand all day, reading under an umbrella and listening to the sound of the surf, then wear that fab necklace out at night to dinner — dressy or casual!

  9. Kim says:

Whoops. A fresh fish dinner at a seaside shack. The one all the locals know. Wearing my new necklace with a gauzy free flowing linen dress and St. Tropez sandals. And, maybe a well worn leather jacket if it get’s a little cold.

  10. Christie says:

We would go to seaside. We were there for spring break and weather was horrible. I would love neck with a white tee and jeans!!

  11. Analise E says:

Oh what a beautiful giveaway! Thank you to you & Dejavu! For a quick getaway, I would head to Asheville… Enjoy the amazing food and detach! For a longer/planned trip, I would head to Italy, particularly this little town that is untouched and simplistic, and still speaks the natural dialect. I read about it in NG over the weekend, but of course the name has escaped me! And I’d wear it with about anything, but love the way it would stand out with jeans and a black top or blazer! Thank you! Analise

  12. Sarah R says:

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  14. Alina says:

My husband and I have always wanted to go to Savannah. I’d wear that lovely piece with a bright fuschia dress and some nude sandals with heels on them.

  15. Sean C says:

The necklace is stunning. I’d love to go to a bed and breakfast in Maine and wear a striped blue and white poplin shirt with white linen pants.

  16. Jill says:

After living away from the Gulf Coast for a few years now… I would have to take a trip back to white sugar sands, always peaceful.

I would so wear this wonerful piece with a white boho blouse and my faded vintage levi’s with cuffs flipped up…maybe ballet flats or just barefoot …with some sand in my toes :)

As always…thank you for a chance at this giveaway !

  17. I would go to Asheville, North Carolina. And the necklace would be perfect for dinner out!

  18. Missi says:

I would take a drive to Miami with my husband in a snazzy sports car with a coral colored top, cute white capris or shorts and ankle strapped wedge sandals. Oh, and my new straw bag! Love the necklace. Thanks for showing all the ways we could wear it.

  19. Kathy says:

I would go to Round Top Texas and stay at the Rachel Ashwell Praire. I think the necklace would look so great with anything, but thinking blue jeans, white t shirt and my cowboy boots and that gorgeous necklace would be perfect !

  20. Melissa says:

    Seleta,

I would head down to Fernandina Beach, which is only about 1.5 hours from where I live. My husband passed away one year ago this week, and nothing soothes the soul quite like the ocean. I love the look with the jeans and the navy blazer you are wearing. A long day relaxing on the beach and then a quiet walk downtown in the company of good friends is just what I need!

    P.S.
I’m really loving that blazer. Can you share where you found it?

  21. Allison says:

I would grab my boyfriend and hop on a plane for a quick getaway to Sonoma for the weekend – we went there a year ago and had the best time staying at a quaint bed and breakfast, doing far too many tastings at nearby wineries, and just relaxing for a few days. 28. Kristen F says:

Oh I love this necklace! The classic simplicity, but still unique enough! 48 hours alone with my husband for a trip? I think we would drive up the California coast through wine country. I have never done that and have always wanted to. This would be perfect because we love to drive together (probably because that means our 3 little ones are all safe in their seats and can’t go anywhere) and talk. So to be able to drive ALONE together through Napa and Sonoma and along the Pacific Coast Highway sounds like a dream. I think we would have to rent a convertible to enjoy this trip to its fullest…don’t you think? :)

  29. lacy says:

The Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia. It is the epitome of equestrian chic set in the Virginia Hunt Country. Oh gosh. At first, I thought, “Go big or go home!” — Bali!

But then, I don’t know…I live in Charleston, which is already the perfect place, but what impresses me is how many wonderful little jewels exist all around us and we don’t realize it.
Recently we attended a family wedding and stayed at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. I thought I’d been to Jekyll before, but apparently I hadn’t. The history not only of the resort but the island is absolutely fascinating, and now I’m happily buried in research-I-don’t-have-time for, reading books and doing searches on the area. And I feel like there’s just so much out there to see, not halfway across the world, but within a few hours or even an hour of all of us, just waiting to be discovered.

  48. Allison says:

I live on the central coast of CA, so for a quick vacay I would choose San Francisco. My husband and I love it there! In CA it’s important to layer – so jeans, long sleeve shirt, blazer/jacket, comfy flats for walking, and a scarf or fun necklace like this one.

  106. Kate S. says:

As much as I feel like I need some sunshine and warmth, I think NY would call my name for a quick get-away. Shopping, sightseeing, museum, great food, and maybe a show. Sounds perfect!

  107. Beth says:

First – what a beautiful piece of jewelry!

A quaint bed and breakfast in a picturesque area of New England sounds like a sweet and romantic getaway, cocooned in the beautiful landscape and surrounded by many historical places. I envision wearing this on a quiet evening out, complete with a white T-shirt, cropped jacket, skinnies and the perfect peep-toe heel.

  108. Dawn says:

I would have to go to Watercolor! It’s been a few years since we made it down there from Atlanta, but I would glam it up and wear it with a fun, retro-style swimsuit — poolside with mojito in hand!

  109. Stacy says:

If I had 48 hrs to get away, I would go to Seaside! It is my favorite place to go! It’s close to me and it’s how I found out about the Simply Seleta blog! I also fell in love with Dejavu! I now have one close to me in Fairhope, AL! I love the pearl tassel necklace with Chambray! So cute! Would love to wear that for Easter!

  110. Mo says:

For a quick 48 hours I would head to the Cape off season or maybe Nantucket. OR, visit a new hotel in Boston. I don’t get back in for an overnight w my husband as much as we’d like to!
Thanks for modeling the necklace, I like it more than I thought I would seeing it on the mannequin!

  111. Shar Y says:

I would love to go to Santa Barbara for a quick getaway! Went over 25 years ago and have always wanted to go back! I would wear the necklace with jeans and white linen! By the way, you are just adorable!

  112. Laurie says:

Beautiful tassel! I would whisk my husband away to Sunset Beach, NC for a romantic weekend getaway. The necklace would look lovely paired with a bright pink tee and white jeans.

  113. emily says:

We would escape to Ruidoso, NM. It is close enough for a quick trip and such a beautiful place!

  114. Deb says:

If we had just 48 hours, I would love to visit Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA. Both cities aren’t too far away for a quick trip, and I would love to take in all the history and architecture that we don’t have where we live.

  115. Johanna says:

I love, love, love this beautifully chic necklace. I would escape with my husband to Durango, Colorado where we went for our honeymoon 18 years ago and then drive over to Telluride. It would be heaven to be alone in with my hubby without our boys pulling us a million different directions. I would wear the awesome tassel necklace with my new coral colored linen dress and of course it goes great with a black Tshirt and m dark skinny jeans paired with leopard flats.

  116. Maria says:

I would go to Charleston for my 48 hour vacay. The dining, shopping, and nightlife choices are endless and fantastic. And I would wear this necklace with my navy pleated maxi skirt and a Kelly green blouse. Why oh why did I not order this right away when I saw it on your instagram?? Please re-stock this DejaVu, it is a must have!

  117. Nancy says:

It’s so wonderful to day dream! I would head off to the Napa Valley! I’ve never been and have been dying to go! And since this girl wears pears all the time, (I have been known to wear them with sweatshirts back in the day) I would probably put that necklace with a black tee, white jeans and sit back and sip some wine! Great giveaway!

  118. Jill says:

How about Graceland? I think the tassel pearl necklace would fit the vibe of Memphis perfectly! I’d wear it with a flowy top and cigarette pants. And blue suede shoes!! Thanks for the chance!

  119. Rachel says:

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the necklace! I would wear with a simple black dress on a date night or with jeans and a jacket. This piece is very versatile. Where would we go? We’d go to Pacific Grove. There is a lovely B&B that has rooms that have a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean. A candlelight dinner – who could ask for more? Thanks for the give away.

  120. Beth says:

My son has to decide on a college by May 1st and is having trouble picking from his top 3, so the anxious Momma in me wants to vist Boston, Nashville, and South Bend. For a romantic get away with just my husband, I would pick Bermuda and wear a bright blue top with white jeans and nude sandals. Thanks for the chance!

  121. Mahsa says:

Being in law-school leaves no time for actual vacationing but plenty of time for day dreaming. If I could take a 48 hour vacation anywhere it would be to Paris, France. Cliche, I know. But when I think of pearls I think Paris. What better way to wear this necklace than with some dark jeans, a simple blouse or cotton tee, with a blazer draped over your shoulder while aimlessly wandering through the louvre until you find your way to the Sculpture Garden. White marble statutes and a pearl tassel necklace, does life get any better…only in day dreams.

    Thanks!

  122. Marie says:

I would go to Cape May, NJ for the weekend and wear it with this outfit I want to buy at Talbotts.

  123. Jolie says:

I would love a getaway to Ausin, Tx. for awesome people watcing, fab food and some relaxation. I’d wear the necklace with cropped skinny jeans, a crisp white shirt and my funky polka dotted Anthro jacket (and some fun navy wedges.) I’d probably bring a large bib for when I hit all the food trucks (well, maybe just 6 or 7) so my outfit would remain decent looking. Thanks for the giveaway!

  124. Andrea C says:

Hmmm…48 hrs..where to go? I would love for if my husband and I could go to Water Club in Atlantic City for one night..spending the day in the spa..relaxing and dinner at my fav Continental and then take a quick ride up to NYC for shopping and soaking in the city..I would wear gray tee, jeans and comfy suede flats..

  125. Renee A says:

48 hours is just enough for the Grand Hotel on Mackinac (if it’s summer & we’re heading north) or Naples (if it’s STILL winter!) and at either spot would pair it with a tunic, skinny white Bermudas & my favorite Sam Eddleman ballet flats.

  126. Christine R. says:

I would love to go to Napa! Sitting outside watching the sunset at a wine tasting. Perfect! I would probably wear a black tee, blazer, jeans and a cute pair of wedges.

  127. Beth D. says:

48 hrs is just not long enough! If it must be only 48 hrs, I love to go to the Greenbrier hotel in West Virginia. I’d wear the necklace with a beautiful pink dress for a formal dinner after a day of relaxing at the spa!

  128. Valerie says:

I would love to take a trip to Charleston! The necklace would look great with anything, but I want to wear it with a chambray shirt, white skinnies, and simple jack rogers sandals.

  129. Bridget says:

I live in San Diego so I’d wear it with jeans and a summery sweater since it’s still a little chilly on the coast. My daughter competes in the AO Hunter divisions – so I’d wear it to a horse show! I love your blog –

  130. We recently took a 48 hour trip from Kentucky to Arizona so I could see the Grand Canyon. Next up on the 48 hour trip menu is a visit to Philadelphia to see some of the historic sites. I love this necklace, and it would go perfectly with the LBD I am wearing to my future daughter-in-law’s bridal shower.

  131. Tommie says:

I would go to Paris and shop at Repetto wearing my pearl necklace!

  132. Carla says:

So gorgeus and such a classic piece!! Perfect for casual, work, or dinner out! For a casual out–San Antonio, with skinnies, my new leopard booties, a cardi & tee. Love!

  133. Pat Burns says:

Oooooh! I LOVE this fabulous find. I think this would be the perfect piece to travel with; as you said, it goes with everything.
New York will be my next trip and it will look fabulous both day and night. I’m already picturing all of the outfit updates with it—worn both at home and while traveling.
    Thanks for this wonderful opportunity!

  134. Brandy says:

I would love to visit Seaside! Your pictures and descriptions of your town are so charming. I would love to come shop and relax.

  135. Amy says:

I’d wear it on our babymoon to Naples, Florida. Probably with a comfy maxi dress, my bright teal Gigi clutch some glittery sandals. Hoping those pearls detract from the baby bump!! Fingers crossed! *Amy

  136. Regina says:

I’d wear it on our trip to Charleston in a few weeks. I love pieces like this that “pack well”, meaning they can go with numerous pairings from jeans to Lilly shorts/skirts to dresses. Keeps me from having to pack too much!

  137. Sarah says:

I would go to a winery and get a little black dress to wear the necklace with. You look beautiful no matter what the wind does to your hair!!

  138. Jamie L says:

If I had a 48 hour vacation, I’d definitely head to the mountains…likely Colorado!

  139. SShaw says:

Where did you find your speckled blouse shown in the last couple of shots?

  140. Ann says:

Charleston for dinner, and better yet, let’s sail there!

  141. Deanna says:

My husbands’s birthday is in May and we’ve been wanting to go to Serenbe Farm outside of Atlanta. I’d wear the necklace with a crisp, white linen tunic and white shorts and a straw hat. I’d throw in a few strands of turquoise-perfect for shopping in the quaint town or farmers market. I’d dress it up in the evening with a LBD and shorter strands of crystal for a night out. I’d follow that up on Sunday with a jean shirtdress and flat sandals, paired with a baseball cap. I just love the versatility!

  142. Jennifer says:

I would go to Bermuda and stay at The Reefs. We spent our honeymoon there almost 14 years ago and it was unforgettable! I would wear the necklace with a simple black dress or jeans and a tee shirt. Love it!

  143. Bronwyn says:

I’d run off to New Orleans and wear the pearl necklace with a light floral dress and a floppy hat while touring the mansions in the Garden District. Oh, I hope I win! That necklace is just darling on you!
