nursery design ideas

One of the few blogs I take the time to read every week is Emily A. Clark.  Emily is talented, authentic, and most importantly, a mom (of five!) I really admire.  Her posts are filled with inspiring, classic, and realistic ideas and projects.  I always feel uplifted and inspired after reading her posts.  Put her on your must read list.

I was honored when Emily asked if I would chime in with other design bloggers on her recent post about nursery do-over decorating.  The post is filled with great advise by seasoned designer moms who have been there/done that with nursery design.  Learn from our triumphs and mistakes!  Emily also shares some swanky nursery style picks, like these items.  *sources on this grouping in Emily’s post.

A FEW OF MY NURSERY PICKS:

Speaking of nursery design advice, here are some fun, affordable, and practical items I found and love.  First, this little scalloped side table – seriously obsessed with it.  Where was this when I was working on my kids’ nurseries?!?  Trying to find a place we could put this in our house, which is difficult because I tend to hoard cute side tables.  Note: it’s on sale for less than $70!!!

Yes, it comes in pink.

This dotty bedding called Katie.  A great way to add a playful vibe in the nursery.  Like using polka dot sheets in the crib – adorable!  A boudoir pillow would be super cute on a neutral rocker/glider.

This cutie pie lamp adds a little sophistication in a nursery and is versatile enough to later go in other rooms in your home.  Low price point and touch on/off for ease.  Again, where were these conveniences when I designed our nurseries?

Comes in other fun colors like aqual, pink, and lilac.

This storage ottoman is a great piece to use in a nursery for new mommas to plop their feet on and tuck away a few fun books and toys for baby.  Tucks away easily (not too big) and can be easily moved around a nursery.  Also a soft base for little ones who pull up and try to stand or walk.  When your baby starts to cruise around, he’ll love opening up the ottoman to find his goodies.  I love the navy with white piping…and also the robin’s egg blue.

Be back over the weekend with a couple of great beauty sources just in time for spring.

TGIF!
