design tip: the white planter pop

I love adding a modern white container with fresh green plants on a tabletop or stack of books.  It’s an instant pop of style and great way to break up any stuffiness in a traditional setting.  For me, I find succulents to be the most versatile and hardy plants to keep alive.  A little inspiration pic to get the conversation started.

Love using funky, faceted, or detailed white planters, as they give a fresh vibe that works in just about any setting or color scheme.  You can find them just about anywhere if you look – TJ Maxx, Homegoods, Target, or even thrift stores.  Here are a few online that caught my eye:

This guy comes in three sizes, starting at $15.

And this one is pretty edgy.  Less than $20.

This planter is more traditional and only $11 at Wal-mart (it says in store only) but so cute to throw in together a few different succulents.  I like the beaded trim – classic look if the modern look isn’t quite your style.

The kids have been enjoying having a few friends sleepover this week.  Late nights and lazy days playing on our dock in the bay (away from the beach crowds) has been nice for us all.  I cannot believe school starts in two weeks!
