white light

The past five days have nearly crushed me with our daily demands and one sick at home.  Parenting is no joke.  Anytime you think “I’ve got this” you are quickly brought to your knees, ha ha.  I no longer say those words ; )  The good news is our kiddo is fully recovered, I’m headed off on Friday for some excitement, and today is Wednesday – a perfect time for us to enjoy some pretty white.

Today is all about beautiful light.

It gets dark so early these days and bright light can really cheer a soul up.  Most of us would love to hop on a plane and soak up the Caribbean sun for a spell, but a trip like that isn’t always an option.  I’m thinking about how light at home can solve our need for bright light during the dreary winter months.

If you look carefully at this Mark D. Sikes bedroom mirror reflection, you’ll notice white lamps flanking the bed.  I’ve noticed he frequently uses white lamps in a space, and his choices are always spot on.  See the full home tour here, it’s glorious and cheerful!

Sometimes all we need is a little touch of light at home to lift the spirits.  White lamps are a simple and effective way to achieve this.  I’ve found four great-looking, affordable lamps to help you achieve this look – two are white, one is lucite,  and one is glass.  At the end of the post is an inspiring quote I really like and wanted to share.  Here we go!

Really like these white ceramic lamps over here – I like that they’re on the taller side and are simple and clean without any distracting metal accents.

And this crystal lamp is gorgeous for a light and airy look with more of a modern touch.  Great price!

Also love this cute little lamp, which can wake-up a dead spot on a bookshelf, tabletop, or dresser.

And this pretty seeded glass lamp is absolutely adorable!

I have lamps all over our home and love the cozy warmth they bring at night.

Switching to the emotional aspect of life, I think this time of year is definitely about mind over matter, as the day to day can get become of  bit of a drudge.  This month can also get crazy in terms of workload, parenting demands, and deadlines.  I’m feeling it.  Found a quote to encourage any of us who may be using all of our resources and need a lift.  Really love this reminder.  It’s empowering to know that challenges truly make us stronger.

Cheers to finding the light!
