I’d like to welcome new sponsor Ella Pearl Designs. Owner and designer, Stephanie Coughlin, put her degree in fashion design to good use with the creation of her stylish hand made purses and pillows. I’m especially fond of her vintage striped silhouette pillows.
Today Ella Pearl Designs is giving away this sassy clutch in a rich green ebellished with perfectly pleated ruffles in blue silk. Pleated ruffles are on the list of things that make my heart happy. Love how this clutch happens to coordinate with the colors in our home ; )
Can you see yourself strutting around with this pretty under arm? What a great bag to have for upcoming holiday soirées.
Aside from its beauty, I like that it’s actually big enough to hold more than a credit card and cell phone. Most clutches are so teeny tiny and flat that I can’t even fit my lipstick in them. And that’s a deal breaker. This clutch has it all – attitude and space.
One lucky random winner will be selected and announced next week.
HOW TO ENTER:
Let’s have fun with this one. Name one unusual thing you have carried or found in your purse.
I’ll go first: A lizard. When I reached in to pay for my groceries, I forgot I was “carrying” a baby lizard for my daughter while we were shopping. You might recall another lizard friend that once camped in our house back in this post…we have many critter adventures over here.
Cannot wait to read your answers!
Thanks to Ella Pearl Designs for this awesome giveaway. Happy Friday, friends! : )

the perfect red
For years I have searched for the perfect red lipstick. I’ve always wanted to pull off the whole chic red lips vibe, but somehow end up looking clownish or like I’m auditioning to play Jessica Rabbit. I guess I have a hard time finding a shade that works with my coloring because I’m fair with an olive undertone. Everything ends up looking too blue, too rust or too pink on my skin. The times I have found a great color, it’s usually discontinued in months…a big pet peeve I have with Lancome! So finding the right lipstick has felt more like a search for the holy grail.
After my long, tiring search I finally found a new love. Chanel’s Rebelle #63. It’s in the “Rouge Coco Shine” section of their lipsticks. It’s sheer and highly pigmented at the same time.
I found it at the Chanel make-up counter while visiting Boston last summer. I’ve never bought anything Chanel, but was drawn to a tall stack of Coco Chanel books on display. As I was standing there, for kicks I asked an associate if I could pull off bright red lips despite my coloring. She reached in a big drawer and pulled out a sample tube then said in a heavy French accent, “try thees, eet ees exactly what you need.” She walked off and picked up the shiny black phone to finish a conversation she was having with another customer. I thought “okay, she must be really confident about this color.” I tried it and LOVED it! It was creamy, light and the perfect pop of red. No blue or pink undertones.
This one is the only lipstick that doesn’t cause my lips to peel – maybe it has fewer harsh chemicals in it than other brands? Not sure. I happily wore it most of last summer and find that it’s perfect for a winter look as well. Note: I do lightly apply my trusty Revlon liner in Sienna first to give it a touch more darkness and staying power. I blogged about that liner a while back in this post.
If you’re a fair-skinned brunette who wants a chic pop of color on your lips, I think Rebelle is the one.
For my blonde friends: if you can wear reds with a tangy coral undertone, Rebelle would work well for you too! I could see it worn to a holiday party wearing winter white. Nobody can rock all-white like a blonde.
Hope you’re having a great Monday morning.
Oh and this was not a sponsored post : )
